2018 Treasure Chase Round Up
The 2018 Treasure Chase was an outstanding success with a total of 52 participants. The event started early on Friday morning with a large convoy, headed by organisers, out to the event area. After maps were handed out, directions were given and rules read, everyone, headed off for the day to seek their fortune. By 5 pm that afternoon everyone had reported back to the campsite and made good use of the bar to support AHVISE.
Saturday was a repeat of the previous day, though the spike in temperatures had many returning earlier to cool off in preparation for a night of live music from David Kirk, presentations and dinner.
Many of the visitors to Mount Hogan stayed on for up to two weeks after the event and continued to find more gold and rubbish while enjoying Lake Fred.
On behalf of the entire French family, thank you to all that attended, we all had a wonderful weekend and welcome you all back next year and extend that welcome to Gilberton Station.
Over the two days of the Treasure Chase, the following was found:
Rubbish • 20.1kg
Gold • 65.4g
Tokens • 7 tokens (10 remaining)
There was a bar run on Friday afternoon and Saturday night.
All proceeds from the bar go to help the education of children in the bush, with the help of Aussie Helpers Volunteers for Isolated Students’ Education.
This year the French Family donated all the supplies for the bar, which meant that 100% of the bar takings went to AHVISE. This year we were able to donate an impressive:
Thank you to everyone who supported the bar and helped to raise money for this very important and worthwhile organisation.
Thank you to our sponsors, competitors, and organisers, all of which made such a great weekend possible.
Please support them when you can because without their help this event would not be possible.
