RULES 

ALL VISITORS TO Mt Hogan STATION MUST AGREE TO AND ADHIRE BY THE FOLLOWING:

  • Self supplied items:

    • First Aid kit

    • Drinking water

    • Porta Potti (or similar)

  • Environmental hazards to be aware of: rocks, sticks, storms, bush fires, washouts, disused mine shafts.

  • DO NOT use Gilberton/Mt Hogan UHF channel (38) for anything other than emergency contact with the homestead

  • DO NOT chase cattle.  They are quiet.  Move quietly about the animals and continue on your way.

  • DO NOT approach feral animals.

  • DO NOT use weapons of any kind.

  • Fires are allowed for cooking purposes.  Make sure the fire is properly contained and extinguished.

  • ALL serious injuries are to be reported to management.

  • Road rules apply here as well.  

    • DO NOT speed and be considerate of other camps/houses, people, vehicles 

    • DO NOT drive fast or erratically through and around cattle

    • Drive to road conditions

    • 20km zone between homesteads.  Please be considerate of the people that live here and the dust you and your vehicles create.

  • Gates and fences are to be left how you find them.  Open = open, closed =closed.  Any damages to fences or gates are to be reported immediately. 

  • NO ATV's, RTV's or motorbikes

  • NO dredges

  • Dogs are the responsibility of the owner.  Gilberton and Mt Hogan Stations bait for feral animals regularly, these baits pose a threat to your pets.  We advise that you supervise you dog at all times, should anything happen, it is entirely your responsibility.  Should any dogs be found to chase or harm wildlife or cattle, you will be asked to leave.

  • Respect other camps/campers

  • No claims are to be made over areas for prospecting.  You leave that area (for sleep, food, water ect), it is available to anyone else. 

  • Fill in ALL holes.

  • Take your rubbish with you when you leave and leave the camp site in a tidy, respectable manner for the next person.

  • Gilberton Station Homestead is contactable on UHF channel 38 in the event of an emergency and has a Royal Flying Doctor (RFDS) provided medical chest and contact with the RFDS Cairns should the situation warrant it.  

 

ANYONE FOUND TO BREAK ANY OF THE RULES OR FOUND OUTSIDE THE DESIGNATED AREA WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY AND NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN. There is no 2nd Chance here.
